Kenza was born in Ait Hamza and has been an active part in the village’s development since her youth. She has been involved in multiple associations that focused on Ait Hamza’s development until she decided to start Tithrite. Kenza is now the president of Association Tithrite and is driving its vision forward. She plans to use all the money she earns from her sales to fund the future development projects of the association. In addition to her work with Tithrite, she serves as a vice-president for the Moroccan Association of Artisans.
The association creates simple bistams, or purses, in multiple shapes and sizes. The women use a loom to create a very narrow carpet using the ‘tazrbit’ or the ‘hanbal’ style and then sew it together to create the small purse.
Transparent Pricing
#KnowThePrice
Moroccan artisans are paid a meagre 4% of an average sale online or in local markets.
But with your help we can change that!
Every product on Anou is priced by artisans themselves and Anou shows
exactly where your money goes. When buying handmade Moroccan crafts always ask for pricing breakdowns from sellers.
