Ija was born in 1953 in douar Askour, she’s married to a local farmer and has 5 kids. She never went to school and she learned weaving at a very young age. Weaving has been the only way she can financially contribute to her household’s expenses. She joined the cooperative hoping to have better opportunities with her weaving skills, and she also specializes in cleaning natural wool and handspinning it into yarns.
