The women of Cooperative Ikhf N'ghir want to do their part to make this year a little bit better for everyone by helping spread reminders of togetherness, love and happiness to everyone around the world from their village. Behind the Scenes: Learn How The Rug Hangings Were Made!

DESIGNS

We at Anou encourage artisans to share their designs with design mentors and get feedback before they make anything. These wall hangings came from such a collaboration. Cooperative Ikhf N'ghir received feedback on designs, words, scaling and much more to create this beautiful selection of designs.

LANGUAGE

Cooperative Ikhf N'ghir worked with their design mentors to pick their favorite words in both Arabic and Amazigh that represented optimism.

SUSTAINABILITY & DESIGN

With the design set, the women of Ikhf N'ghir walked through their local mountains to find fallen wood that would work for each rug wall hanging. Every wall hanging is made with piece of fallen wood hand collected by the women.

PRODUCTION

With the design set, Cooperative Ikhf N'ghir went through several iterations of the wall hangings before finally getting the final design just right. Each rug hanging takes about two days to make.

PHOTOGRAPHY

With coaching from Anou's mentors, Cooperative Ikhf N'ghir tried several different photography ideas before finally settling on the images listed above. All photos on this page were taken by members of Cooperative Ikhf N'ghir
