MEET THE MAKERS
Anaya Koubr Achin
Anaya is from Teduit ZanFi, is married to a man from the local village and is the mother of nine children, all of whom are married. Only one of her daughters stayed to live in her village, who helps her with her weaving. Anaya taught all of her daughters the craft of weaving, just as she learned the craft from her mother. From the earnings she receives from her products she helps support her husband financially. Anaya joined the association to have easier access to a marketplace where she could sell her products with the hope of one day being able to have them at a craft exhibition.
VISIT THE VILLAGE
Association Timouzounin hosts visitors in their village — share tea, watch the artisans at work, and see the craft up close. Visits start at $21 per person, and most of it goes straight to the group.
