MEET THE MAKERS
Saida Boulmayssat
Saida was born in 1985 and never married. She left school after her primary education because there was no secondary school in the area. Saida learned and utilizes the craft of embroidery and sewing, and wants to teach other women in the village who have left school these skills so that they may gain sustainable income.
Naima Abekan
Naima was born in 1978, and attended school through the fifth grade. Naima left school because of family troubles and because of the distance between her childhood home and the location of the school. She is an active member of the cooperative.

VISIT THE VILLAGE
Cooperative Fadel Tighedouine hosts visitors in their village — share tea, watch the artisans at work, and see the craft up close. Visits start at $17 per person, and most of it goes straight to the group.
