Touda was born in Teduit ZanFi, is divorced, has one son and son lives with her mother. Touda has never had the opportunity to attend school because her family could not pay the fees for her to attend. Now Touda is improving her skills in literacy through classes taught by the local association. Touda learned the craft of weaving from her mother, and the money that she earns from the association she uses to support herself. Touda joined the cooperative to have better access to a marketplace where she could sell her products.
The designs made by the association are rooted in the long weaving history of the region. Many of these rugs, known as Taznakht rugs, are made distinct by bright reds and yellows, colors that represent the landscape in which the rugs were made.
