Younes was born in a small village and after discovering his passion for woodworking at an early age, he decided to move to the near-by city of Essaouira. When he arrived, he enrolled in school and also found an woodcarving master so he could serve as an apprentice. After graduating from high school, he decided to focus on woodcarving full-time. Today, Younis is now a master woodcarver and specializes in boxes and wood trays. He uses all the money he makes to help his family and cover his daily needs. In the long-term, he hopes that he will be able to grow and improve the woodcarving craft sector in Morocco.
