About Cooperative Tisseuses
Cooperative Tisseuses, or the Cooperative of Ain Leuh, is one of the most well known. From the beginning, the women of Cooperative Tisseuses have always been trendsetters. When the artisans in the Cooperative first established themselves in the 1970's, they were one of the first cooperatives to be officially recognized in Morocco. Since then, their simple but chic patterned designs are frequently cited as the source of contemporary hanbel rug design that is now commonly found throughout the rest of the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Today, the cooperative is a vibrant collective that provides substantial income for over 12 members.
