INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

In celebration of International Women's Day, UNILEVER is partnering with The Women's Cooperative of Khenifra in Morocco to highlight the important role of women's cooperatives in the country. As part of the partnership, UNILEVER has committed to supporting the cooperative in the expansion of their business and their livelihoods.

THE WOMEN'S COOPERATIVE OF KHENIFRA

A group of Moroccan women had been making jellaba buttons for little pay when they decided to create their own line of jewelry using the buttons. Their innovative products blended traditional and contemporary design and quickly became popular, leading them to form an official cooperative in 2008. Today, the cooperative provides a steady income for 20 women and their families, who continue to create new designs.
