With so many artisans and artisan cooperatives across Morocco how do you decide which artisan should make your order? Follow these tips to have a great experience and receive exactly what you want!

DESIGN

All products on Anou are designed by the artisans themselves. If you find a design you love, then that group is the only one that is able to receive a request for that product.

Have your own design? Upload it directly through the "Personalize This" option on any product page and the cooperative will prepare a detailed quote. Yarns are dyed to order in our Fes atelier to match your palette — browse our color book to explore the colors artisans work with.

PRICING

Artisans on Anou set their own pricing for their products. Generally speaking, groups with higher pricing have an excellent track record of fulfilling orders, meeting deadlines, providing daily updates of made to orders, and complete orders with precise measurements.

If you are flexible on time and final dimensions, go with a more affordable group. If you need precise measurements on a timeline, order from a higher priced group.

LIVE COOPERATIVE PERFORMANCE DATA

Once you place your request, you'll be emailed access to your custom order dashboard. Your dashboard connects you directly with the artisans making your products. Artisans will send you progress photos as your order comes together and you can send them emojis and small messages that are translated in real time!

Your dashboard also includes a color annotator: mark up progress photos directly to fine-tune colors with the artisans while your piece is still on the loom, so the final colors come out exactly as you imagined.

CUSTOM ORDER DASHBOARD EXAMPLE

For projects that need deep collaboration — precise color tuning, carving and relief work, textures, or other fine details — the fastest path is working 1:1 with the artisans in person. Rather than trading emails and photos for weeks, join a weaving residency: spend 7–10 days at Anou in Fes, make decisions with the artisans in real time, and bring your design to life exactly as you imagined it.

The Anou Cooperative guarantees that your order will come out as agreed. If it doesn't, The Anou Cooperative will provide you with a full refund or the opportunity to have your order remade.
